Time to gather stones — a new monument in Vladivostok
22:38 24.09.2007

On the 17th of September a monument devoted to the friends of "Expedition" was set up in Vladivostok. The pedestal of the future monument was set near the lighthouse in the Golden Horn Bay — one of the most significant places for all of us — the traditional finishing place of "Expedition-Trophy".

Partners and representatives of "Expedition" brought stones from different corners of Russia and CIS countries for the monument. Each stone carried the inscription with the name of the city or the place it was brought from. The stones were arranged on the basement and topped with one carrying the "Expedition" logo. The mortar for the monument was made with water delivered from different corners of the country as well.

Thus, the monolith of the monument is "mixed" on the waters of the Baltic, Japanese and Okhotskoe Sees, the rivers Dnepr, Volga, Kama and Irtish, the Moscow ponds and the Bryansk Lakes. That's how we saw the symbol of unity and diversity of the huge territories united by "Expedition".

The construction of the monument supposes its extension with stones brought by our friends from other regions. So if you happen to go to Vladivostok on February 23rd 2008 — bring a stone with you!
