On the 12th of August an automobile expedition started from Latvia to the Kola Peninsula to spend 10 days in Russia's Far North. The expedition took place due to support of "Expedition" representatives in Europe, as a by-job participants of" Expedition-Trophy 2005/2006".

In four 4x4 vehicles, two of which were bright-orange, the participants crossed the peninsula covering 5000 kms along the Barents Sea, over the Khibiny Mountains till the White Sea shore near Karelia boarder. After that the expedition moved along Finnish boarder to its finishing point in Saint Petersburg, repeating the route of "Expedition-Trophy 2006" first stage.

The goal of the journey was to get to know the beauty of Northern nature, history and culture of Kola's native population — the Saams, and other historical and natural monuments of the region.

The story of the journey will be reflected in a ten-series film that will be shown on TV5 Latvia channel starting from the 23rd of September. You can find the photos and some video materials from the expedition at www.qfilma.lv.
