This document is meant for the participants of Selection Rounds for "Expedition-Trophy 2008".

1. Terms

Selections

A system of events intended to form teams for the international adventure "Expedition-Trophy 2008". After each of selection rounds not more than three teams become participants of the Race. Participation in Selection rounds is free of charge.

Team

At least one woman. Not more than one Veteran. Each team starts the Race with 6 (six) people membership. During a Selection a team of seven members can be formed, but only six of them will enter the final team list.

No more than two substitutions are accepted within a team that has been formed during a Selection. One team member can be changed for another member of some other team for free. A change of a team member for a participant of any Selections costs 3000 (three thousand) Euro, and a change for a completely outside person costs 7000 (seven thousand) Euro. A team notifies the Organizers about any change in it composition in the written form with signatures of at least four team members.

The final team list should be introduced to the Organizers in the written form no later than on December 31st, 2007. No changes to that membership of the team are allowed, except for force maj?ur circumstances - unexpected illness, death of close relatives, etc.

In case the winner of a Selection for "Expedition-Trophy 2008" refuses to take part in the Race (this doesn't attend to the pre-race technical commission), the Team pays the Organizers a fee of 10 000 (ten thousand) Euro no later than on March 8th 2008.

Applicant

An Applicant is any person, who wishes to participate in "Expedition-Trophy 2008", submitted a fulfilled form to one of the "Expedition" stores, received an invitation from the Organizers and arrived to a Selection round in time. Each applicant should have a duly arranged insurance.

Veteran

A Veteran is a participant of one or both the previous "Expedition-Trophy" Races, who possesses a badge certifying it.

Merchant

A Merchant is a person who has the right to form a team during the Selections. Veterans can become Merchants free of charge. Other people can become Merchants only after they have paid for this right 3 000 (three thousand) euro for one Selection round or 10 000 (ten thousand) Euro for all the Selection rounds.

Participants of the Selections

Participants of the Selections are the Veterans, the Applicants, the Organizers and the Guests of the Selections. Each of them receives an identity card (ID) after registration, and should constantly wear it in a plain view.

2. Selections

The Selections are held in the areas and in the period specified in invitation given to each Applicant. The Selections include: a self-presentation of each Applicant (no more than 2 min), accomplishing different tasks and the stage of teams' forming. When fulfilling a task each applicant should strictly follow the safety requirements of the Organizers' representative. Violation of this requirement will cause disqualification of an Applicant from the event. The participants of the Selections take full responsibility for their actions, health and life.

3. Winners

The Merchants declare the formed team with the IDs of all the members no later than the time, set specifically at each Selection round. In case three or less team applications are received, the declared teams become the winners of the Selection round. In case more than three team applications are received, the winners of the Selection round are defined by voting after the presentation of each team. Three teams that receive most voices are announced winners of the Selections. If several teams receive the same amount of voices, the second round of the voting takes place. The Organizers sign a contract for participation with each team.
