On 8th and 9th of May, on the eve of the great Day of Victory, two important events happened in the life of "Expedition". For the first time the company gave a real parade with a military orchestra and a procession of orange off-roadsters in honor of the 62nd Victory of Russian people over fascism. Right after the end of the parade the participants set off for the Ivankovskoye lake, where they successfully rehearsed the program of Selection rounds for "Expedition-Trophy 2008" Race.

"Waw! What energy they show!" &mdas; such exclamations followed the column of orange jeeps as its tail bent beautifully round the corner. Early in the morning 17 Expedition offroadsters with festive flags and ribbons set off from the center of Moscow and having made a round along Sadovoe Koltso and passing Poklonnaya Gora, drove to the place of the parade near the Snegiry village, not far from Moscow.

The citizens of the settlement showed no less delight and surprise when they found a festive march of the "orange division" close to the monument memorizing the heroes of the Great War. A real military orchestra and a steamy field-kitchen added much charm to the show.

Program of the Selection rounds "Expedition-Trophy 2008" is successfully tested!

On May 9th on a small but very beautiful island in the Volga (130km from Moscow) a Selection round with participation of employees of the company was held by the Organizers of "Expedition-Trophy 2008". The total amount of the competing was 50 people.

The Selection round lasted one day and included 13 stages, spread all over the territory of the island. The tasks were different in technique and difficulty and were meant to test both participants' physical form and the ability to solve tasks (navigation, team work) quickly and correctly.

Thus, the main aim of the competition was to quickly organize an adequate team at a stage and to successfully pass it. The forming of a team for participation in "Expedition-Trophy 2008" took place after all the competitions had been complete.

According to the Organizers, this year's Selections are remarkable for the particular accent on participants' ability to organize themselves, to clearly divide inner roles and work as a team. That is why those applicants wishing to participate in the Race will have to proove psychological stability, ability to negotiate and cooperate with others.

How to take part in a Selection

In order to take part in the Selections and receive the right to participate in the Race as a member of a Veteran's team without paying the entrance fee, it's necessary to fill a special form in any of the "Expedition" stores and transmit it to the store's employee. The form includes detailed information about the applicant. In case the applicant is chosen to participate in the Selections he or she will be informed be the Organizers personally by the phone.

The first Selection round will take place on May, 19th, on an island in the Ivankovskoye lake, Tver Region.
